Hiking offers a refreshing break from the long stretches of road and hours spent driving through Namibia during your holidays. Our guided hiking trails allow you to stretch your legs and connect with the stunning landscapes up close. Unleash your wanderlust and experience the country’s natural beauty in a way that a vehicle simply can’t provide.
We have a dedicated area available around the lodge where you can go trekking on your own accord over shorter distances. Alternatively our guided hiking caters for longer walks into our nature reserve that is home to a variety of wildlife and birds.

Self-hiking
A 82-hectare area around the lodge is available for self-hiking which can be done at any time. Sable antelopes, impala, warthogs and a variety of birds can be spotted while hiking.
Free of charge
Guided hiking
A 4-5 hour guided hiking trail that leads towards our mountain ranges on a hill where you can get a stunning bird’s eye view overlooking our 6200-hectare property.
N$450 per person
Bush breakfast
After a 3 hour guided hike you are treated to a breakfast buffet in the middle of the bush with a selection of delicacies that you can enjoy in tranquility.

Our animals roam freely on a big area and therefore wildlife sightings vary every day depending on wildlife migration patterns.
No, there is a dedicated 82-hectare area around the lodge where guests can walk on their own. A guide is required to accompany guests who want to go on a hiking trail beyond.
A variety of snakes and scorpions are home to our property. Note that it is very rare to come across them and snakes in particular are shy animals that are sensitive to vibrations so chances are high that they will avoid you.

Activity details
1.1 Activity schedule times are approximate and will be confirmed to you at reception when you check-in.
1.2 Activity times are approximate, some activities may be slightly longer or shorter as displayed. No refunds or price changes may be claimed for activity times that are not exactly as stated.
1.3 Rainfall, cold weather, resource availability or other factors beyond our control may cancel or postpone activities. No claims can be made for postponed or cancelled activities.
1.4 There is no guarantee to see any animal at any given time. No claims can be made in regards to wildlife sightings or any other reason whatsoever.
Pricing & payments
2.1 Price changes are subject without notice: We reserve the right to change the prices of our activities at any given time without notice. Please confirm the rate of activities at the reception when you check-in to ensure that you don’t book activities calculated at old prices displayed on the website or elsewhere.
2.2 For pre-bookings an activity price will be communicated to you which will not be amended specifically to your activity reservation.
2.3 No prepayments are normally accepted for activities, all charges are added to your room bill and settled when you check out.
Availability of guides
3.1 Activities are done by different guides depending on the time schedule of our organization. We can’t guarantee on any given date that a certain guide will accompany you on any activity. If you have stayed with us before and have a certain preference for a guide you may feel free to advise us accordingly, at the same time we can’t guarantee that a certain guide will be available for the activity.
Activities are done at your own risk
4.1 All activities booked at Gabus Safari Lodge are done at your own risk. It’s part of your responsibility as a guest to familiarize yourself with any dangers or unforeseen circumstances that may arise during an activity.
4.2 Employees, management, owners, shareholders and other guests may not be held liable for any circumstances arising during activities.
4.3 No claims are to be made against employees, management, owners, shareholder or other guests for injuries, trauma, death or any reasons whatsoever.
Right of admission
5.1 We reserve right of admission for all of our activities for any given reason whatsoever.
5.2 We reserve the right of admission for children under 11 years for activities for any given reason.
