Entering Namibia
As of September 2022, NO negative PCR tests and NO COVID-19 vaccination certificates are required to enter Namibia.
Tourists may be required to present a full travel itinerary including proof of confirmation of bookings must be presented on demand to authorized officials at ports of entry or roadblocks.
Covid-19 restrictions & regulations
The COVID-19 restrictions in Namibia change on a regular basis.
As of 17th March 2022, the following restrictions apply:
– No curfew is in place anymore
– Wearing of masks is NOT mandatory anymore. However the public is encouraged to wear masks in closed spaces.

There are various facilities where you can get tested for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus in Namibia.
Based on the regulations of the country you are traveling to, choose to either get the PCR test or the Rapid test.

Namibia Central Pathology is a private lab located behind the Wernhill Shopping Centre in Windhoek.
This was by far the best lab to get a PCR test in our experience. They also have affordable rates!
The staff was super friendly in our experience and even picked up my calls after-hours for an emergency case.
Went the next morning and our guests did the Travellers test at 08:15AM and we collected the test results at 11:25AM.
That’s right they actually offer a 3-hour turnaround time for COVID-19 PCR testing in Namibia!
NCP can either e-mail you the results or you can collect the original, stamped certificate at the lab.

There are multiple registered COVID-19 testing facilities including NCP, Pathcare Namibia, Namibia Insititute of Pathology (NIP), Rennies Travel, OSH-Med, Namdeb Laboratory, Namib Poultry Lab, UNAM Laboratory, and more. Namibia Central Pathology (NPC) offers the most reliable service in our experience.
This depends on what testing facility you are planning to use. The average turnaround time ranges from 24-36hours for PCT tests and less than 5 hours for rapid tests. NCP offers PCR tests with a turnaround time of 3 hours in Windhoek.
Testing in Windhoek can conveniently be done at the Namibia Central Pathology lab which offers a turnaround time of 3 hours for PCR tests for travellers and less than 24 hours for the normal PCR test.
There is also Pathcare Namibia which offers COVID-19 PCR tests and rapid tests in Windhoek, Ongwediva, Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo, Swakopmund, and Walvis Bay. Test results are sent to you via e-mail and are watermarked so they can be conveniently printed out and don’t require to be collected.
Namibia is very limited cases of COVID-19 and therefore all restrictions previously imposed have been removed.
